Zoombucks is a Canadian based online rewards program founded in 2010 by Vikas Tailor.

As a member, you are rewarded with a virtual currency which can be exchanged for actual cash, or retail gift cards. You earn “Zoombucks” by doing tasks such as: Watching videos, completing offers, performing searches, and taking surveys.

The GoodGreen Check

  • Signing up is free

  • You can spend your Zoombucks on a wide variety of gift cards from major retailers
  • Zoombucks can be converted into real cash
  • Available to anyone worldwide
  • Their referral system allows unlimited people to sign up under you

The BadRed X

  • Most tasks have a low payout, making earning points slow
  • Qualifying for surveys can sometimes be difficult
  • You can be disqualified in the middle of a survey, potentially wasting a lot of time
  • Reward payouts are slow for Free subscriptions
  • Potential lower earnings for members in certain countries

Who Is Zoombucks For?

This program is for just about everyone. You have to be at least 13 years old to join. If you like completing surveys, getting rewarded for just surfing the web, or both, then this place is definitely for you.

Zoombucks is available to everyone worldwide, but your earning potential can vary depending on which country you live in.

Training & Tools Overview

The Zoombucks site is pretty intuitive for the most part. It’s easy to navigate once you get your bearings. However, there is a learning section called the “ZB University” which will give you a better idea on how the site works. This is available to all members.

The University contains links to a FAQ, Quiz, Graduate, and Video pages designed to answer common questions and help you get a better feel for the site. This training isn’t very robust, but it gets the job done.

This page of the University contains a list of frequently asked questions ranging from crediting issues, to answering questions on how to earn points. It doesn’t offer in-depth explanations, but the FAQ is useful nonetheless.

This page will quiz your knowledge about Zoombucks. You get points once you’ve received a passing score. This is a one time thing. However, you can keep taking the quiz until you’ve passed.

This is a checklist containing 10 tasks to complete on Zoombucks. Once all the tasks are complete, you earn 100 points. This is also a one time deal.

Coming soon. This part of the ZB University hasn’t been implemented yet (as of 4 May, 2015).

The Referral Program

You can start promoting Zoombucks once you’ve created an account and gain referrals. You earn 10% of every referral’s Zoombucks forever. For example, if one of your referrals earns 1000 points, you get 100.

The training ZB provides on promoting its program is, as they say: “A mile wide and an inch deep.” You’re provided with banners to put on your blog, and a decently long list of possibilities on how to get the word out. Some ideas are very good, while others are out of date, or require a lot of manual effort on your part. You’re not provided with much needed in-depth training to successfully promote their program.

My biggest problem with ZB’s training is a key factor being left out of it: Promote the program on your own website! Yes, you can find success without one, but I think you’ll be more successful with a piece of your own online real estate. Personally, I believe you’re doing yourself a great service by setting a foundation in place. Centralizing your efforts will benefit you in the long run.

To be fair, Zoombucks is a GPT (Get Paid To) program, it’s not in the business of teaching you how to market online. Therefore I can’t knock them too much for lack of a robust training program.

Support is available to all members. You can’t phone in for help, or contact the owner, but a ticketing system is in place. A rep will assist if you have an issue, and they usually respond in a timely manner. This is especially true if you’re a paid member. Priority support kicks in for Bronze members and above.

Joining Zoombucks is free. Many different levels of paid subscriptions are also available. Each level provides higher earning potentials and bonuses than the next. Prices for each subscription level is shown in the picture below.

Final Opinion & Verdict

Approval StampZoombucks is a decent program to get into if you want to get paid to do “nothing.” The profits you earn from this program are small, and the time it takes to make money leaves much to be desired. You do get paid, but it’s nothing to write home about.

I was a Platinum member for a month. Overall, I managed to score a couple of gift cards AND profited about $30 after subtracting the $60 Platinum subscription fee. I wasn’t billed again after I decided to downgrade to a Free account. Kudos to Zoombucks for making it hassle-free to downgrade memberships.

The bulk of my points came from surveys. This is due to the fact that I received a 90% bonus for being a Platinum member. If I completed a survey which offered 100 points, then I would receive 190 Zbucks after all was said in done. This is one of the incentives of having a paid subscription. However, if you can’t or don’t want to pay for a membership, then no sweat! There’s absolutely no pressure to upgrade.

They don’t claim you will make hoards of money with their program. This is a good thing because they don’t fill you with false hopes like many other programs do. I have to give high marks to Zoombucks for being honest.

  1. A very easy to read review indeed. Very neat and well laid out.

Thanks for giving me the info on Zoombucks, because up until reading this I had never heard of it before. It sounds like a decent way to earn some pocket money, but you will never be able to earn enough money to make a difference in your life.

Oh yes, I like your website too.

The best of luck to you and your online business.

    • Hey John!

ZB can be fun, and companies whom conduct these surveys highly value your input. I’ve taken surveys from supermarket and convenience store chains, restaurants, and even beta tested mobile apps. The information I supplied kind of made me feel important. The main drawback was I could only generate enough income for “beer money.” I did the math awhile back, and I was making an average of $2-$3 an hour…and that was with my Platinum membership. Though, Zoombucks never claimed I will become rich from taking surveys/surfing the web/watching videos, so I didn’t expect much going into it.

Anyways, I’m glad you like my site, and I wish you the best as well.

  2. Hi Chris,
Nicely written. I can’t count how many surveys I have taken and the three items you listed on your “Bad” topic happened to me. I was working this week and got sidetracked. I saw take a survey and earn cash. I didn’t given them any money but they SURE WASTED a lot of my time. Yes, you’re right. Anyone who likes this type of work, good for them. Its not for me. I did go to a website similar to yours with the same process too. I don’t remember the name though.

    • It happened to me a lot too, and it was frustrating. There’s nothing like completing 75% of an hour long survey worth 500 points only to be told that I no longer qualify for it. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to yank my hair out because of this, lol.

Of course, if this type of gig is your thing, then more power to you. For me, I’d rather find something which has a better return on investment.

Ahh, I believe the website you’re talking about is Swagbucks. 🙂

  3. Hi Chris – I have never heard of this company before either, but have definitely heard of filling out surveys for money. I have thought the same thing – that does sound like a lot of work for not a lot of money. I think people will do much better by picking “Door Number Two!” 🙂

    • Hey Debbie!

You will spend a lot of time on tasks/surveys just to make a few dollars. Even with paid memberships (plus the bonuses which come with them), you’re still going to do a lot of work since you have to accumulate enough ZB’s just to break even. I had to put in 10’s of hours to yield a small profit. The site is pretty cool, but don’t quit your day job. 🙂
